Aldi Old Hopkins White Rum Review

Well the weather maybe starting to warm up some in the UK so its time to dust off the BBQ and deck chairs and grab the open air while you can. No one can predict what kind of summer we will have but us Brits are used to that! So no matter what you can whisk up a fab cocktail to make any day seem right. Once again I got to try a lovely product from the fab range at Aldi. Not only are their items great the price is even better.

Minty Mojito

Ingredients
100ml Old Hopkins White Rum
50ml Lime juice, freshly squeezed, plus Lime wedges to serve
2tbsp White Sugar (Caster Sugar is best)
Bunch of mint leaves
Ice cubes, crushed
Soda Water, to top up
Method
Split and pour the rum, lime juice and sugar into 2 tall glasses.
Add around 5 mint leaves to each glass.
Fill each glass with crushed ice then stir ingredients until combined.
Top with soda water and garnish with a lime wedge and a sprig of mint.

This was lovely so refreshing and clean tasting. Perfect for any time really but sitting on a summer afternoon with a glass or two would  be bliss . This is our attempt think it looks as good as it tastes, we did forget the lime wedge lol.

Watermelon Caipirinha

Ingredients
400g Cubed Fresh Watermelon
140ml Cocobay White Coconut Rum
Juice of 1 Lime
Juice of 1 Lemon
Ice cubes
Method
Put the watermelon cubes into a bowl and, with a wooden spoon, smash them into a pulp.
Add the rum, lime and lemon juice and mix well.
Pour into a jug and add ice to serve.

Loved this it was just like summer in a glass. Easy and simple to make and just so yummy you will need a second glass.  Sadly we  never got a picture as it did not last long lol we totally forgot to take one but this is how it looked.

There are lots more fab recipes over at the Aldi web site so go check out some more ideas

please note I was not paid for this review , only receiving a sample of the product
